During a visit to New York, Morgan meets Gabriel and immediately falls in love with him. She, however, has no knowledge of his real identity and purpose. In order to protect her, Morgan is taken to Gabriel's home Ahe’ey, an island whose existence is not known to humans. The people of Ahe’ey have special genes whose power can be used to bring happiness, health and peace to the world, but can also be extremely dangerous in the wrong hands. The citizens of Ahe’ey live in constant fear of what would happen if their existence was discovered, but a bigger enemy threatens their peace. There is a silent struggle brewing within the very borders of Ahe’ey. The Queen and King set in motion a plan that will either change the status quo and bring real freedom to their people or destroy everything they held dear, including their own son Gabriel. But it is Gabriel who has to make the biggest sacrifice if he is to achieve his goals and purpose.
Ange'el by Jamie Le Fay is an enchanting fantasy tale that takes you from the world as you know it, puts you in a time machine, and takes you to a different place and time. It is almost unbelievable to see how Ahe’ey survived undiscovered for all those years, but through Jamie Le Fay's incredible writing skill you witness a place and life so surreal, unlike any other. The novel brings to life a place that has so many contradictions that its dynamics will leave you at loss for words to describe it. Ahe’ey, and the lifestyle of its people, is as advanced as it is backward and with social dynamics so beautiful yet so rigid at the same time. Jamie Le Fay brought out the contradiction in the four communities that make up Ahe’ey so well that I could vividly picture the difference between the four tribes with pure clarity. The characters in the book each bring something special to the story, making it a captivating page-turner.
